Terms of service
Terms & Conditions
1. Scope
These Terms & Conditions apply to all orders placed through the SOLIO online store and to the use of our website.
The online store is operated by:
SOLIO GmbH
Email: info@solio.ch
Throughout these Terms & Conditions, the terms “SOLIO,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to SOLIO GmbH.
By accessing our website or placing an order, you agree to these Terms & Conditions as well as any policies referenced on our website, including our Privacy Policy, Shipping Policy and Return Policy.
Our online store is hosted by Shopify Inc., which provides the e-commerce platform through which we offer and sell our products.
2. Products
SOLIO sells food products, primarily organic extra virgin olive oil and related products.
We make every reasonable effort to present our products, packaging, colours and images as accurately as possible. However, the appearance of colours and packaging may vary depending on the screen, device, production batch or packaging update.
Natural products such as olive oil may show slight variations in colour, aroma and flavour between harvests or batches. Such natural variations do not constitute a product defect.
Product availability is subject to change. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue products without prior notice.
3. Product Information and Use
Product descriptions, origin information, ingredients, storage instructions and suggested uses are provided on the relevant product pages or packaging.
Customers are responsible for following all storage and use instructions. Olive oil should generally be stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat.
Information on our website regarding nutrition, health or the use of olive oil is provided for general informational purposes only and does not constitute medical or nutritional advice.
4. Orders and Conclusion of Contract
The presentation of products in our online store does not constitute a legally binding offer but an invitation to place an order.
By submitting an order through the checkout, you make a binding offer to purchase the products contained in your shopping cart.
After submitting your order, you will receive an automatic order confirmation by email. This confirms that we have received your order but does not necessarily mean that the order has been accepted.
A binding purchase contract is concluded when we:
- expressly confirm acceptance of the order;
- confirm that the order has been shipped; or
- dispatch the ordered products.
We reserve the right to reject or cancel an order, particularly in the event of:
- incorrect product or pricing information;
- insufficient product availability;
- suspected fraud or misuse;
- unusually large order quantities;
- delivery restrictions; or
- technical or payment-related problems.
If we cancel an order after payment has been received, the relevant amount will be refunded.
5. Customer Information
You agree to provide complete, accurate and up-to-date information when placing an order.
You are responsible for ensuring that your delivery address, billing details, email address and payment information are correct.
Any additional costs resulting from incorrect or incomplete information provided by the customer may be charged to the customer.
6. Prices
All prices are stated in Swiss francs (CHF) and include statutory VAT where applicable.
Shipping costs are not included in the product price unless expressly stated otherwise. Any applicable shipping costs will be displayed before the order is completed.
We reserve the right to change our prices at any time. The price displayed at the time the order is submitted applies to that order.
For measurable goods sold to consumers in Switzerland, the applicable total and unit prices should be displayed transparently in the online store. Shipping costs may be shown separately where they depend on factors such as weight or delivery method.
7. Payment
The available payment methods are displayed during checkout.
Payment is due when the order is placed unless otherwise stated. Payment processing may be carried out by third-party payment service providers and may be subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.
We reserve the right to withhold shipment until full payment has been received or successfully authorised.
The products remain our property until full payment has been received.
8. Shipping Area
We currently deliver exclusively within Switzerland and the Principality of Liechtenstein.
Orders are generally shipped through Swiss Post. We reserve the right to use another suitable shipping provider where necessary.
We do not currently deliver to addresses outside Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
9. Delivery Times
Orders are generally delivered within approximately 2–5 business days, depending on the selected shipping method and product availability.
Any delivery times stated on our website are estimates and are not guaranteed unless expressly agreed otherwise.
Delivery may be delayed due to circumstances outside our reasonable control, including:
- high order volumes;
- public holidays;
- adverse weather;
- postal or carrier delays;
- customs or border-related delays;
- technical disruptions; or
- temporary product shortages.
If an ordered product is temporarily unavailable, we will inform you as soon as reasonably possible. We generally do not send partial deliveries unless otherwise agreed.
10. Shipping Costs
The available shipping methods and applicable costs are displayed during checkout and in our Shipping Policy.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, shipping costs are paid by the customer.
Any free-shipping threshold displayed in the online store applies to the value of the products after discounts and before shipping costs, unless otherwise stated.
11. Delivery and Transfer of Risk
Please ensure that the delivery address provided during checkout is complete and correct.
Once the package has been delivered to the address provided by the customer or deposited in accordance with the delivery instructions agreed with the carrier, the delivery is considered completed.
If delivery is unsuccessful because the customer provided an incorrect address, failed to collect the package or otherwise prevented delivery, any additional shipping or handling costs may be charged to the customer.
12. Inspection of the Order
Please inspect your order promptly after delivery.
If you receive an incorrect, incomplete or visibly damaged order, please contact us as soon as possible at info@solio.chand provide:
- your order number;
- a description of the issue; and
- clear photographs of the product and packaging, where possible.
Visible transport damage should also be reported promptly to the relevant shipping provider in accordance with its applicable reporting procedures.
13. Voluntary Return Policy
As our products are food items, opened, used or unsealed products cannot be returned or exchanged for hygiene and quality reasons.
Unopened and unused products may be returned within 7 days of receipt, provided that they:
- are in the same condition in which they were received;
- remain unopened and unused;
- include any original labels and seals;
- are returned in their original packaging; and
- are accompanied by valid proof of purchase.
Before returning a product, please contact us at info@solio.ch to receive the relevant return instructions.
Products returned without prior notification may not be accepted.
Return shipping costs are borne by the customer unless the return is due to an incorrect delivery or a confirmed product defect.
The original shipping costs are generally non-refundable.
This seven-day return option is a voluntary contractual policy offered by SOLIO. Swiss law does not generally provide an automatic cancellation or return period for ordinary online purchases.
14. Exclusions from Returns
Returns cannot be accepted for:
- opened, used or unsealed food products;
- products that have been improperly stored;
- products damaged after delivery;
- products without proof of purchase;
- personalised or specially produced items;
- gift cards or vouchers; or
- products purchased from third-party retailers rather than directly from SOLIO.
These exclusions do not affect any mandatory statutory rights relating to defective or incorrectly delivered goods.
15. Product Defects and Incorrect Deliveries
If a product is defective, damaged before delivery or different from the product ordered, please contact us promptly.
We may request photographs, packaging information, the batch number or the return of the affected product so that we can investigate the issue.
Where a complaint is accepted, we may, depending on the circumstances and subject to applicable law:
- replace the affected product;
- issue a refund;
- provide an appropriate price reduction; or
- offer another suitable solution agreed with the customer.
We reserve the right to reject claims where no product defect can reasonably be identified or where the issue results from incorrect storage, handling or use after delivery.
Mandatory statutory warranty rights remain unaffected. Under Swiss law, warranty claims for defective consumer goods are generally subject to a two-year limitation period, although customers should inspect goods and report defects promptly.
16. Refunds
Once a return or complaint has been received and reviewed, we will notify you whether it has been accepted.
Approved refunds will normally be issued using the original payment method. Processing times may vary depending on the payment provider or financial institution.
Shipping costs will only be refunded where the return results from:
- an error on our part;
- an incorrect delivery;
- a confirmed product defect; or
- another circumstance for which we are legally responsible.
Where a refund to the original payment method is not technically possible, we may contact you to arrange an alternative refund method.
17. Promotions and Discount Codes
Promotional offers and discount codes are subject to the conditions communicated with the relevant promotion.
Unless otherwise stated:
- discount codes cannot be exchanged for cash;
- only one discount code may be used per order;
- discount codes cannot be applied retrospectively;
- discount codes may not apply to shipping costs;
- minimum-order requirements may apply; and
- promotions are valid only during the stated period and while stocks last.
We reserve the right to withdraw or correct promotions affected by errors, misuse or technical issues.
18. Gift Cards and Vouchers
Gift cards or vouchers, where offered, may be used only in accordance with the terms communicated at the time of purchase.
They cannot be exchanged for cash unless required by mandatory law.
The applicable validity period and any restrictions will be displayed with the relevant gift card or voucher.

We may restrict or terminate access to our website where these Terms & Conditions are violated.
24. Liability
SOLIO is liable for direct losses caused by an intentional or grossly negligent breach of its contractual obligations.
To the extent permitted by law, SOLIO is not liable for:
- indirect or consequential losses;
- loss of profit, revenue, savings or data;
- interruptions or technical failures outside our reasonable control;
- delays caused by shipping providers or other third parties;
- improper storage or use of products by the customer; or
- content or services provided by third parties.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by mandatory law.
25. Force Majeure
We are not responsible for delays or failure to perform our obligations where caused by events outside our reasonable control.
Such events may include natural disasters, epidemics, war, civil unrest, strikes, transport interruptions, energy shortages, governmental measures, supply-chain disruptions, cyber incidents or failures of communication networks.
Where such circumstances occur, our obligations will be suspended for the duration of the event to the extent affected.
26. Data Protection
The collection and processing of personal data through our website and online store are governed by our Privacy Policy.
By using our website, you acknowledge that your personal data may be processed by service providers necessary to operate the store, process payments, fulfil orders and provide customer support.
27. Severability
If any provision of these Terms & Conditions is found to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain valid and enforceable.
The invalid provision will be replaced, to the extent permitted by law, by a valid provision that most closely reflects its original purpose.
28. No Waiver
If we do not exercise or enforce a right under these Terms & Conditions, this does not constitute a waiver of that right.
Any waiver must be made expressly and applies only to the specific circumstances for which it is granted.
29. Changes to These Terms & Conditions
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.
The version published on our website at the time an order is placed applies to that order.
Material changes will take effect upon publication unless another effective date is stated. We recommend reviewing these Terms & Conditions periodically.
30. Applicable Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms & Conditions and all contractual relationships between the customer and SOLIO GmbH are governed by Swiss substantive law, excluding its conflict-of-law rules and the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods.
The courts at the registered office of SOLIO GmbH shall have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory jurisdiction available to consumers under applicable law.
Swiss consumers may generally bring claims arising from consumer contracts either at their own domicile or at the seller’s registered office, and this mandatory right cannot be waived in advance.
